An early attempt to make shared screens feel like a place where people could genuinely work together.

At SAP Lab in Palo Alto in 2014, I conceived the idea, built the prototype and developed the OS X application for a new way to share screens and applications during meetings.

The problem
Traditional screen sharing makes one person the presenter while everyone else watches. I wanted shared applications to feel like part of a collaborative workspace, not a broadcast from one person's desktop.
Design & implementation
As an Innovation Prototyper within the Chairman’s project team, I took the idea through interaction design, prototyping and OS X application development. The working application made the concept tangible enough to try in a meeting and refine through use.
The concept later evolved into CoScreen, acquired by Datadog in 2022. My contribution covers the original idea, prototype and OS X application developed at SAP.

Why I built it
The project shaped how I approach prototyping: build enough of an interaction for people to experience a different way of working, then use that concrete system to develop the idea.
