revoice

DesignAI

An assistant designed for people who cannot rely on speech.

I conceived revoice and designed the entire experience, from the original idea to the interaction demonstrated below.

revoice concept demonstration.

The problem

Most voice systems assume speech as the main input. That assumption immediately excludes users who cannot rely on spoken interaction.

Design & implementation

I started with the interaction rather than a voice interface: how could someone express a request and use an assistant without speaking? That question shaped the concept and the experience shown in the demonstration.

This is an interaction concept; accessibility outcomes have not been clinically validated.

My contribution

  • Original concept and end-to-end interaction design
  • Assistant experience built around alternatives to speech
  • Demonstration of an accessibility-oriented interaction concept

Why I built it

I wanted to challenge the assumption that using an assistant means speaking to it. revoice explores how changing the input can make the experience more inclusive.
